Strength Classes

I have created two strength classes; 'Strength for Performance and 'Strength for Fitness' - these classes are intense and challenging and will be 45 minutes duration. They will be held either in my studio or sometimes in my garden depending on weather.

Strength for Performance

If you are looking for a work out to compliment your sports specific training (e.g. a planned event or race) then this is the class for you! Strength for performance encompasses core functional movements to build strength throughout the muscle range, whilst providing a cardiovascular work out to prepare your body to work effectively whilst you are fatigued. These classes will incorporate a variety of body weight and weighted exercises/drills to increase muscular strength and bone density which will help to reduce the risk of injury. An increased strength in connective tissues results in improved resilience and resistance to impact. Finally, regular strength training will improve neuromuscular activation. This is the process by which the brain sends signals to the muscle to recruit muscle fibres and activation patterns to perform certain movements which over time will allow the body to learn to optimise and improve certain movements. Currently there is only one Strength for Performance class which is on a Wednesday 9.15-10am.

Strength for Fitness

Clients will work throughout the 45 minute class with a raised heart rate to maximise fitness gains. These classes will focus on a variety of dynamic movements, body weight and cardiovascular exercises. Strength training involves the performance of physical exercises which are designed to improve strength and endurance, increasing overall muscle mass and body strength. If you want to lose weight and tone up as well as increase overall body strength then this is the class for you. There are 3 classes a week available to book; Monday and Friday mornings, 6.30-7.15am and Wednesday lunchtimes, 12-12.45pm.
