Yoga Classes
I have created three different yoga classes; performance yoga, functional yoga and well-being yoga, which I feel covers all clients needs. All classes have a vinyasa yoga theme which allows me to create sequences using a variety of postures to move fluidly from one to the next. Vinyasa yoga focuses on building overall strength and flexibility whilst using your breath which keeps your mind in the present. Each class focuses on 3 components of health related fitness. See below for more information about each of the classes.
Performance Yoga
Core Stability
Your core muscles are pivotal when it comes to posture, balance, and spinal stability. Having a strong core helps you to syncronize the movements of the upper and lower body, allowing you to carry out different yoga poses with control and fluidity. With a stronger core, you're more likely to sit and stand tall.
Strength
Yoga can build muscle strength and muscle awareness around the joints as well as increasing strength within tendons and ligaments. This helps find a balance between strength and flexibility in yoga poses, perform more controlled movements, and prevent injury.
Flexibility
Yoga keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need this flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way.
Functional Yoga
Mobility
Mobility is the range of movement at a joint. Focussing on mobility helps your joints move more freely, builds up strength around the connective tissues and prevents general body stiffness especially if you spend a lot of time working behind a screen.
Posture
Sitting and standing with proper alignment improves blood flow, helps keep your nerves and blood vessels healthy, and supports your muscles, ligaments, and tendons. People who make a habit of using correct posture are less likely to experience back and neck pain.

Well-being Yoga
Relaxation
Relaxation in yoga provides complete mental and physical relaxation aided by the nervous system by connecting the two of them together using your breath. Meditation and pranayama breathing techniques help to calm the behind and relieve stress.
